The new-look interior of Gravesham Civic Centre – headquarters of Gravesham Borough Council in Kent - has been shortlisted for a Facilities and Asset Management Achievement of the Year Award for ‘Making a Difference’ to its customers. Office fit out specialists Overbury worked with architects ADH Partnership to deliver the £5.8 million stylish and dynamic refurbishment of the iconic building which was designed in the 1960s by Cadbury Brown.
During the 58-week modernisation, Overbury refurbished the civic and mayoral offices as well as the council chambers which have been designed with flexible seating so they double for conference use. The works programme also included the creation of a café and contact centre and communal public areas. The transformed Civic Centre is one of the finalists in the Local Government Achievement Awards 2007.
