Carbon footprint calculator

We measure. We calculate. You benefit.

Overbury is the only construction company to have a carbon footprint calculator developed by AMEE.
The carbon calculator combines the robust data required to conduct a carbon footprint calculation with a simple web based tool. The calculator accesses the comprehensive carbon database to generate the carbon impact of an Overbury fit out or refurbishment project.
AMEE worked with the Government on developing their Act on CO2 carbon calculator. Today AMEE powers carbon calculation engines and stores data for more than 200 global organisations.
Who are AMEE?
AMEE helps companies, governments and consumers calculate their carbon footprint. The AMEE API provides access to the most up-to-date carbon and environmental data. Applications and solutions that are "powered by AMEE" help ensure compliance with authoritative international standards.
The Tool
The carbon footprint calculator is a simple yet powerful tool to calculate an accurate carbon footprint of a project. The tool uses data collected for the project in the following areas to calculate the carbon impact:
DELIVERIES
The number of deliveries to site, the miles travelled and the size of the vehicle.
COMMUTING
The number of people travelling to site, the distance each person commuted to get to site and the mode of transport.
ELECTRICITY
The quantity of energy used.
WASTE
The quantity and type of wastes produced, and the amount that was recycled.
MATERIALS
The quantity and type of materials used.

The tool works from accurate entry of data which is cross referenced with the AMEE database to produce the carbon impact of the project.
Developing this tool enables Overbury and our clients to understand the carbon emissions of projects and have the opportunity to reduce the impact of future projects. Capturing such a wide range of data means that the emissions of each project can be comprehensively accounted for.
The complex calculations are undertaken based on detailed reference sources within the system which are easily accessed through a simple web interface.
When projects are completed Project Managers are able to download a PDF report. The total footprint for the project is displayed in a graphical format as well as a more detailed breakdown of the project emissions.

The Benefits to Users
The information produced by the footprint calculator can be provided to the client for their information and use. They may be interested in understanding their carbon footprint because it enables them to:
- Report carbon emissions internally or externally
- Benchmark and set targets for reducing carbon from future projects
- Offset carbon emissions through Climate Care
- Invest in renewable energy solutions either on site or off site.
Overbury is working with Climate Care who offer a range of offsetting schemes that invest in renewable energy.
Case study
See how Overbury uses the carbon calculator, powered by AMEE, to generate the carbon impact of an Overbury fit out or refurbishment project.
Department of Energy and Climate ChangeOverbury undertook a recent project for the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC). The final phase of the project involved a carbon footprinting exercise to understand the amount of carbon generated by this project.
