The conference is in Birmingham from 14-16 May 2014.

On Tuesday April 29th, the British Council for Offices held the annual London and South East awards event.  Two of Overbury’s projects; BBC’s Broadcasting House and PwC’s One Embankment Place won their regional category awards, with the BCC also being nominated for a national category.

Overbury Workplace Seminar - Let's Stick Together

FM Club members assembled for a breakfast seminar on 27 February 2014, investigating how to improve both the energy performance and value of buildings. The group was addressed by Chris Jofeh, Global Buildings Retrofit Leader at Arup, who stressed that retrofitting is not just about the buildings but also about people and business.

  • Three in four office workers complain that a "culture of presenteeism" stops them working flexibly
  • Yet seven in ten claim to get through twice as much work at home
  • Interestingly, pressure to be present is heaviest on youngsters, managers and those in creative industries

The refurbishment of PwC’s Embankment Place HQ has surpassed the sustainability achievements of its new build offices at 7 More London Riverside, achieving a landmark 96.31% BREEAM Outstanding score. This complex refurbishment has in fact surpassed all other buildings BREEAM achievements to date in both new build and existing structures.
