An Oscar-worthy office design

ODEON has been entertaining the nation longer than most, which allowed us to relive the golden age of cinema in our fit out for their Manchester office. Complete with an Oscars bar and art deco features, we wanted their staff to feel like a VIP every morning.

Project description

ODEON used their relocation as an opportunity to create a vibrant new hub for their staff; somewhere that reflected their company’s core values with dynamic spaces enabling their colleagues to excel.

Instead of plastering the ODEON logo across the office, or turning the space into a makeshift cinema, we decided to incorporate the ODEON ethos into the fit out — this means more than just using brand colours and logos.

The result created a positive, stimulating workplace experience, with contrasting spaces, lighting and textures that enhance the senses. Staff and guests enter the main meeting hub through this smoky mirrored glass walkway; something straight out of the Starship Enterprise.

Choose your workplace

We wanted to empower the team at ODEON to really write their own story. This was a cornerstone in delivering an office of mostly activity-based working spaces, which was centred around the multifunctional lounge and bar area. Staff can pop here for a casual catch up, or book one of the larger dedicated meeting spaces for a more traditional format meeting. This area was designed to give staff a wide variety of spaces to work in.

Enter the arena

For larger meetings and town halls, we didn’t want staff to be stuck in a stuffy boardroom. We designed a semi-circular area, complete with green carpet and wooden bleacher seating. It’s the perfect space to get the team together for an engaging meeting. To complete the experience, we illuminated the exposed services with LED lighting in a subtle hint of ODEON blue.

Back to work

ODEON still needed space for staff to do work, which means workstations. To continue with the full fit-out theme of activity-based working, we used a mixture of workstations, touchdown desks, and solo and duo quiet booths, to provide staff with spaces to work, concentrate and collaborate, providing them with the perfect space for their task at hand.
