First impressions are lasting. We look at how these office fit out projects have delivered receptions that inspire and excite from the get go.

Walking into an office reception for the first time can tell you a lot about a business. The style, the layout and furnishings all give visitors clues about your company — what is important to you, what your brand represents and the image you want to portray. We’ve taken a look at some of our favourite office reception spaces to see what makes each space unique.

The Hut Group, Norwich

This cool reception space at The Hut Group's MyProtein office is more reminiscent of a high-end gym than a corporate office reception. The space features bold, double-height black walls, accessorised with industrial piping and media wall, creating a high-intensity space that truly suits the brand. The pipes start the industrial, locker room vibe that’s continued throughout this gym-inspired office space. On the other side of the reception, the walls are given a bright flair thanks to jerseys representing the brand's different sporting ambassadors.

Goodyear, Birmingham

The black gloss walls in the reception area at Goodyear Dunlop were the perfect choice for this well-known tyre brand. The white asymmetric reception desk provides a dynamic focal point which contrasts brilliantly with the black walls and is a fitting feature for a brand associated with movement and performance.

PwC, Bristol

It’s all about quality for PwC in Bristol and this stunning reception space truly fits the bill. This striking wood-panelled wall features hidden storage and compliments the wood of the reception desk, which has been inlaid with solid white stone.

The copper pendant lighting brings a softer, more homely touch to the space — a great idea for a business that has a focus on people. This project was all about creating a workspace that their people would be proud to work in, and judging by the reception area, it seems they’ve succeeded!

ING Wholesale Banking, London

The luxury finish at ING’s London office reception is a great reminder of the quality people have come to associate with one of the world’s leading banks. Chevrons of parquet flooring meet plush, royal blue carpet as people enter the space. There is a theme of glass and stone, both in the reception desk and in the display cabinets around the room. Cream leather sofas and halos of gold lighting help to create a calm ambience in the space where people can relax before entering the main office.
