Leading UK construction and regeneration company, Morgan Sindall Group plc, is celebrating after its divisions won a total of 56 Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) National Site Awards this year, including 17 gold, 22 silver and 17 bronze awards. This is the largest number won by a single organisation in 2017.

Overbury achieved 10 awards, Morgan Sindall Construction & Infrastructure won 40 awards in total, with affordable housing provider Lovell being awarded six.

The team at Overbury was proud to win the Most Considerate Site (£500k to <£1m) award for refurbishing Lovell’s office space in Norwich. The Considerate Constructors judges praised the way the Overbury site team “pulled out all the stops to forge meaningful links with neighbouring businesses and the wider community”.

Community benefits delivered by the Overbury site team included providing a heavy duty bicycle repair facility for use by local cyclists. Overbury was also praised for its “huge dedication” to safety.

Overbury managing director, Andrew Wood, said: “To be the best performing site in this category is an exceptional achievement and I couldn’t be more delighted for site manager Mark Smith, and the whole project team. This award recognises the amount of effort that goes into ensuring that our projects have a positive impact for clients and their neighbours.”

In addition to the site awards, Morgan Sindall Construction & Infrastructure was also delighted to win the Most Considerate Site (£5m to £10m) award for the Eastern Balancing Reservoir project at Heathrow Airport, as well as achieving Runner-Up for Most Considerate Site for another three projects.

The BBMV joint venture between Morgan Sindall, Balfour Beatty and VINCI Construction Grands Projets working on Crossrail projects, achieved one gold and one silver award and Overbury’s Project Roman was named an Ultra Site, representing the pinnacle of achievement within the scheme.

CCS National Site Awards are given to the highest performing construction sites across the country, which have demonstrated exceptional levels of consideration in securing everyone’s safety; respect for the community; caring for the workforce; enhancing site appearance; and protecting the environment.
