The pair of fit out firms ranked 6th in the UK among Movember Businesss Club fundraisers at the end of November, surpassing more than 480 other UK firms.
“We decided to support Movember to raise awareness of prostate cancer, testicular cancer and male suicide, and at the same time raise some cash for this very worthy charity,” said Chris Booth, Managing Director of Overbury.
“I’m very proud of our teams across the country for making an effort to grow their MOs and support each other in raising such a fantastic amount,” said Booth. “Making it into the top 10 UK firms just confirms what I already know about our people; they’re hard-working and generous, especially for a good cause.”
“Movember were delighted to this year receive support from the Mo Bro’s and Mo Sistas at Overbury and Morgan Lovell who came together to be part of the Movember Business Club,” said Russell McIver, Corporate Fundraising Manager at Movember UK.
From London to Bracknell, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and Glasgow, Overbury teams took part by growing their facial hair and hosting events across the country. Movember staff visited Overbury’s London and Manchester offices to talk to staff about how to tackle these vital and relevant causes and the projects and research Movember has funded. The teams also talked about some of the signs to look out for in men, as well as how men need to talk more in order to help themselves. In London, the annual Overbury Fit Out Charity Music Night at Ministry of Sound raised a significant sum for the cause.
“This money will go to fund our life saving projects and research and truly help to stop men dying too young,” said McIver. “We can’t thank everyone at Overbury and Morgan Lovell enough for all of their hard work and support. They’re truly helping to change the face of men’s health. Legends.”
