Overbury is very proud to be recognised as the national winner of the 'Fit Out of Workplace' award at the BCO Awards 2020, for our work on the BBC Cymru, Cardiff project.

BBC breakout spaces fit out

This was a landmark project for BBC Cymru, providing a new 150,000 sq ft home for their 1,200 staff, spread across six floors. We delivered a full campus-style fit out with dedicated spaces for staff to work, edit, broadcast and collaborate.

We delivered high spec 'traditional' office spaces where BBC staff could work together and collaborate, or undertake everyday tasks that don't require specialist broadcast or editing facilities. Open plan workstations suitable for hot-desking and casual meeting booths are situated around the building's open atrium. This allows staff to truly embrace activity-based working, never being far from 'traditional' workspaces, collaborative breakout spaces and areas to concentrate or work quietly.

Congratulations to all the team BBC Wales at Central Square in Cardiff. Well-deserved applause for: ID:SR Sheppard Robson, AECOM, J4 Projects and Currie & Brown. A special nod to Gennaro Sarno & John Wood who attended the virtual event.

"This truly inclusive, neurodiverse space signifies a new age for broadcasting."
