A sensitive approach to Aon’s relocation

When leading insurance company Aon relocated to prime office space in the iconic Leadenhall building in London, we were asked to handle the highly complex fit out.

With offices arranged over 10 floors, Aon is the largest occupier in this multi-tenanted building. We worked on 30% of the overall net let-able space, while other contractors were working elsewhere and the building was in part occupation. To avoid affecting neighbouring businesses – and to ensure the project ran smoothly – it was vital to communicate effectively with the other contractors, building managers and tenants.

The project included creating a dedicated Aon reception, featuring a large-screen media wall installation. We also created a staff restaurant, client spaces, extensive meeting room suite, executive area, open-plan office space, and flexible, configurable ‘hub’ meeting zones. And the centrepiece of the new space is a striking LED illuminated staircase, linking the front-of-house spaces on levels 4 and 5.

Sustainability was also a key consideration: 94% of the waste created during the project was reused, recycled or recovered, diverting 787.9 tonnes of waste from landfill.
