A repurposed workspace supporting Lookers’ approach to hybrid working

Lookers wanted a flagship HQ to reflect the future of their brand and provide agile, flexible work settings that inspire new levels of collaboration, innovation and productivity.

Key features

  • Reuse and repurpose existing space
  • Inclusive design
  • Reflects new brand identity
  • Supports ESG initiatives

Project description

The pandemic acted as a catalyst for Lookers to change their customer experience from in person showroom visits to also support online vehicle purchasing. Consequently, working practices and ways of working needed to be modified to reflect this new approach.

Their HQ didn’t reflect their new brand, technology and ways of working. Overbury worked with Lookers to engage with their staff, understand workplace needs, and design a new office to support hybrid working.

The Design focussed on reuse and remanufacture of existing M&E, partitioning, joinery, furniture and flooring; introducing social, collaboration and quite space along with meeting areas. The revamp allowed Lookers to design with Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in mind. Punches of brand and the integration of technology highlight the new culture and support new ways of working.

New solar panels, & EV chargers were installed.
