We worked with Quilter Cheviot, one of the UK’s leading wealth managers and part of Quilter plc, to deliver their new Birmingham office on the sixth floor of One Centenary Way, one of the city’s most sustainable buildings.

As part of a broader growth strategy, Quilter Cheviot made the decision to consolidate two offices into one space that could truly reflect their brand and better support their teams. Their ambition was to create a professional, welcoming environment where every client and colleague journey felt considered from the first moment.

Purpose led design

From the outset, the design was guided by Quilter Cheviot’s brand blueprint document, ensuring every detail fully aligned with their brand identity. A key focus was the reception experience, with the space being welcoming and immediately recognisable as a Quilter Cheviot environment. Though the reception is enclosed, the addition of glazing to adjacent meeting rooms brings in natural light and opens up views across the building.

The wider floorplate has been kept open and airy, encouraging collaboration. Meeting booths and pods have been added to offer more focused zones for private or individual work, alongside a spacious breakout area that can flex to support informal meetings or quiet moments.

Sustainable choices

With its reputation as one of Birmingham's most sustainable buildings, Quilter Cheviot picked One Centenary Way for their new office to help meet their goal of achieving a SKA Gold rating. Sustainability was considered at every step and 97% of site waste, over 12 tonnes, was diverted from landfill and recycled. Quilter Cheviot also made the decision to reuse much of their existing furniture, which was integrated into the new layout without compromising on style or quality.

We selected finishes and materials that support longevity and reuse, such as demountable ceiling baffles and solid worktops that can be melted down for repurposing.

Built to last

The project was completed safely and on time and the result is a confident, future facing workspace that brings everyone together into one professional and thoughtfully designed office.

A modern office reception area with a clean, minimalist design. The space features a light wood and white colour scheme with a wave-like LED light pattern on a slatted wooden wall. The reception desk is white with "60 Church Street" lit up on the front. There are navy blue armchairs, round pouffes and small white tables arranged in seating areas. Large potted plants add greenery and contemporary pendant lights hang from the ceiling. The flooring blends light wood and white finishes in a flowing pattern.
