Building skills for life during National Apprenticeship Week 2025

National Apprenticeship Week was a fantastic opportunity for Overbury to showcase the value of apprenticeships and inspire the next generation of construction professionals. Over the course of the week, we visited, hosted or participated in more than 13 events across schools, universities and live project sites.

We engaged with students at Kingston College, LSBU, Westminster University and several schools, including Coopers Colburn, Dartford Grammar School for Girls and The Piggott School, sharing insights into careers in construction. At Phoenix Academy, 250 students attended an Apprenticeship Week Assembly with the Construction Youth Trust, learning about industry routes and apprenticeship opportunities.

In the North, our team hosted virtual and in person sessions at Salford University and NACRO’s Middlesbrough and Newcastle centres, where students explored the career pathways into construction. We also welcomed students and mentors to The People’s Project at Everton Football Stadium and showcased apprentices working at Project Sync.

On site, students from Northstar 240 School visited our Evelyn Partners project in Bristol, taking part in hands on activities and engaging with subcontractors. Alongside Morgan Lovell, we hosted the Overbury and Morgan Lovell Careers Fair, offering future apprentices an opportunity to engage with industry professionals, learn about various career paths and gain practical advice on how to take their first steps into the construction sector. Attendees had the chance to explore potential apprenticeship roles and discover how their skills and ambitions align with a dynamic and evolving industry.

A huge thank you to everyone who made the week a success – we’re proud to play a role in developing the next generation of construction talent : Chelsie Ratcliffe-Cull, Izzy Beadle, Rowan Evenden, Agatha Humphreys, Emma Townsend, Ben Lyttle, Mia Fotheringham and Daniel McIntryre
