Overbury supports Stripey Stork’s mission with warehouse refurbishment

Overbury recently supported Stripey Stork, one of the UK’s largest baby banks, with a pro bono refurbishment of its newly acquired warehouse. Working with subcontractor partners, the project created a functional and inclusive space to enhance the charity’s operations and support families in need.

The new hub has allows Stripey Stork to scale its operations, with a goal to support 20,000 families annually by 2026. With enhanced facilities and a spacious environment for volunteers, Stripey Stork can now continue its invaluable work with greater efficiency and capacity.

The renovation included insulated roof panels, a state of the art heating and cooling system, revamped offices with AV facilities, updated WCs (including an accessible WC), a kitchen area for volunteers, custom workbenches, cot storage and even a custom designed buggy cleaning station, aptly named the "sink of dreams."

Stripey Stork’s Chief Executive, Nicola Dawes, shared her gratitude for the transformation: “Charities are used to compromising, to making do. To have a partner like Overbury genuinely listen to us, understand our mission, and go above and beyond has been transformative. This project has not only upgraded our facilities but has given us the tools to scale up and help even more families in need. It’s a powerful reminder of what’s possible when businesses and charities unite for good. We are so grateful to all the companies involved and can’t wait to show them what we can do with the space.”

This project was made possible thanks to the support of our subcontracting partners: ADS Painting & Decorating, CELTIC CONTRACTORS LIMITED, proAV Limited, TMJ Interiors, Formation Lighting, Loughton Contracts Plc, Bancroft Ltd and Berkeley Projects UK Ltd.
