In January 2021, Overbury will begin work with Pinsent Masons to fit out two floors of in the prestigious Capital Square new-build office in Edinburgh. Overbury has delivered five projects for the international professional services firm over the previous 15 years, winning the sixth after a competitive tender process.

‘Project Green’ is valued in excess of £2.3 million and will cover more than 25,000 square feet across two floors. The work is currently scheduled for completion in Q3 2021.

Pinsent Masons wants a truly agile, technology-led workplace that becomes a magnet for colleagues and clients alike. Overbury’s brief is to create a space that boosts collaboration and connectivity and provides building users with a variety of work settings for different workstyles and activities. The new office is intended to consolidate Pinsent Masons’s two current sites in Princes Exchange and Edinburgh Quay, bringing employees together in a central hub. Its location in the heart of the city’s business district will place the organisation close to national and local government agencies plus other key decision makers.

A core aim of the project is to achieve a WELL Building Standard gold rating. Using forward-thinking and innovative design, Overbury will aim to create a space that prioritises people’s health and wellness. By designing with WELL’s core concepts in mind – air, water, nourishment, light, fitness and comfort – the new workplace will support users’ productivity and wellbeing in a sustainable way.

Overbury’s Glasgow based team will be responsible for the work, alongside project managers CBRE, architects Form Design, quantity surveyors AECOM, with mechanical and electrical systems overseen by Cundall.

Dan Clarke, Head of Scotland, at Overbury, said: “It’s fantastic to be working on a project that embraces forward-thinking design. Unsurprisingly, the workplace is evolving in the midst of a global pandemic. New workplaces need to be more resilient and innovative than ever, and we are excited to be able to deliver these projects for our clients with a local and growing team based in Glasgow.”
