TfL Lost Property project triumphs as collaboration pays off with SCAPE 'Value through frameworks' award. Gleeds, in partnership with Overbury, as part of the Morgan Sindall Construction, and Perfect Circle team, spearheaded the successful relocation of Transport for London's Lost Property Office.

Collaboration was central to SCAPE and the TfL Lost Property Office's success. More specifically, the project was an example of exceptional behaviour and positive relationships that exist between client and delivery partners.

In March 2023, Gleeds reached out to SCAPE regarding an urgent project to relocate Transport for London's Lost Property Office, a space for all staff and assets, as well as a location for the handling of 200,000 items annually. TfL required a Lost Property Office capable of carrying the weight of a statutory obligation to maintain and offer retrieval services for a minimum of three months to its users.

Overbury was tasked with delivering the new facility, including new sorting and storage areas, an entrance area, meeting rooms and breakout spaces including welfare facilities and a rest area to support TfL’s ‘modern ways of working.’ A key deliverable was the provision of ‘stepfree’ access throughout the building to improve Customer Service and staff safety and security.

Through close collaboration between TfL, Gleeds and Overbury, this project was delivered before the lease expiry of TfL's South Kensington location, demonstrating agility, a fast response and high levels of service to a multi-faceted, strategic client, which has now led to further opportunities with TfL.
