Key features

  • Mix use office and laboratory space
  • Separated ventilation systems
  • Upgraded fire integrity
  • 99% waste diversion from landfill

British Land required the conversion of the existing office space into hybrid space that included laboratories. The works included an upgrade of fire integrity of the lab space following the consultation with building control and specialist fire engineers. Lab benching was installed as part of full fit out. The labs also required separate ventilation extractor systems. For space to break away from the labs, a teapoint and banquette seating was installed.

Stairs to success

Due to challenging logistics within the building, we arranged for deliveries to be made over the weekend and transported materials manually up seven flights of stairs. This required careful planning as we wanted to ensure we had all the materials in place for the upcoming week of works and maintain project progress.

The project put a focus on environmental considerations where approximately 99% waste was diverted from landfill.
