HERE building wins inaugural National ESG award at the BCO Awards 2023

The HERE building was recognised as the winner of the inaugural National ESG award, after winning the award for the South West and South Wales. The ESG award recognises the commitment and positive impact on the environment, social value, governance or sustainable practices in the commercial building industry. This BREEAM Excellent building in Reading's Thames Valley Park fully embraced the circular economy to create this carbon neutral space. Our partners on this project were V7, BauMont Real Estate Capital Limited, Hawkins\Brown, Hoare Lea, Element Four, TFT and Hatch.

The HERE building is carbon neutral in operation and in construction. One prominent example being the HVAC systems. We replaced existing systems to facilitate a switch from gas to electric and provide a 20-year life in the HERE building. In keeping with the commitment to the circular economy, we reused the existing HVAC systems in the sister building next door, as well as other items such as internal partitions. As a result, the refurbishment project also obtained a BREEAM Outstanding certification.
