TPT Retirement Solutions, one of the UK’s leading providers of workplace pensions, wanted to use their office move to shift from a traditional fixed desk setup to a flexible, hybrid environment that provided greater choice in how their people worked.

To support TPT’s cultural transition, our workplace consultancy team engaged closely with their people to address challenges around desk ownership, privacy and resistance to change. Together, we identified the right balance of settings to enable both focused work and collaboration, with these insights informing the design of a workplace that combines flexibility with a strong sense of identity.

Versatile spaces for all types of work

The new space includes a welcoming reception with bespoke joinery and feature lighting that sets the tone for the rest of the space. A town hall area with full AV supports presentations and events, complemented by a central social space, perfect for more informal interactions. A wellbeing room provides a private retreat for personal time, while a dedicated podcast space and recording studio give the business the ability to communicate in different ways. In addition, breakout zones, focused desk areas and cellular meeting rooms offer flexibility for every style of work.

Detailed surveys allowed us to minimise rework and reduce waste by building around the existing mechanical systems, avoiding unnecessary modifications.

From fixed desks to hybrid working

The result is a workspace that reflects TPT’s shift in culture and fully supports a hybrid working strategy. The new office is now a modern, flexible environment designed around employee needs, offering spaces to collaborate, focus, relax and connect.
