Pharmaceutical

Research facilities that furthers pharmaceutical development.

Home What we do Pharmaceutical

Working with you to deliver pharmaceutical lab facilities that shape pioneering medicinal development.

We specialise in delivering pharmaceutical facilities that enable ground breaking medicinal innovation. From research laboratories to manufacturing suites, our fit outs empower science that advances diagnostics, therapies and drug development. Collaborating with your industry experts, we create spaces that seamlessly integrate the complex processes involved in pharmaceutical research and production.

Having partnered with global leaders like AstraZeneca and GSK, we bring a wealth of experience in fitting out and installing pharmaceutical environments, including:

Building structure and layout

  • Cleanroom construction: Installation of cleanrooms compliant with ISO classifications critical for pharmaceutical operations
  • Airlock and personnel flow management: Controlled entry and exit points for materials and staff
  • Hygienic surfaces: Installation of non porous, chemical resistant and easy to clean materials such as epoxy flooring and stainless steel for walls, floors and ceilings

HVAC and environmental controls

  • Air handling systems: Installation of HVAC systems to maintain precise temperature, humidity and pressure differentials, essential for cleanroom environments
  • HEPA filters: Integration of high efficiency particulate air filters for removing airborne contaminants
  • Environmental monitoring systems: Installing continuous air quality, temperature and humidity monitoring systems for compliance with MHRA and other regulatory bodies

Utilities and infrastructure

  • Purified water systems: Installation of water systems to produce and distribute purified water, water for injection (WFI) or pharmaceutical grade water to meet UK requirements
  • Compressed air and gases: Supply lines for medical grade compressed air, nitrogen or other gases essential for pharmaceutical processes
  • Electricity and backup power: Redundant power system installation, including UPS and backup generators, to ensure continuous operations during power outages
  • Drainage systems: Installation of hygienic drainage systems for managing pharmaceutical wastewater and hazardous waste, compliant with UK waste regulations

Laboratory and equipment areas

  • Laboratory spaces: Fitting out quality control (QC), microbiology testing or R&D areas tailored for UK specific standards like BS EN ISO 15189
  • Specialised equipment: Installation of pharmaceutical grade machinery, including reactors, mixers, autoclaves and filling machines
  • Cold storage: Installing refrigeration units and walk in freezers for storing temperature sensitive products, with monitoring systems to ensure compliance with storage standards

Safety and compliance systems

  • Fire safety: Using fire resistant materials, installing suppression systems and alarms, meeting UK building regulations and specific risks in pharmaceutical operations
  • CCTV and access control: Installing advanced security measures, such as biometric access systems, to control entry to sensitive areas
  • Regulatory compliance: All fit out elements will meet MHRA guidelines
  • Validation and qualification: Facilities and systems undergo installation qualification (IQ), operational qualification (OQ) and performance qualification (PQ) to ensure compliance with regulatory standards

Staff facilities

  • Changing rooms: Building of gowning areas equipped with lockers and appropriate facilities for staff entering cleanrooms to meet hygiene requirements
  • Cafeterias and rest areas: Fitting out of dedicated spaces for staff to maintain compliance with hygiene protocols and provide comfortable amenities

Technology integration

  • Automation systems: Installation of robotics and automated systems for material handling and production processes to increase efficiency
  • Data recording and monitoring: Putting in systems for tracking production, quality control and regulatory compliance, including digital batch records and traceability systems
