Home News Overbury raises £21,233 for Maia Mouse Foundation
Monday, 13th November 2017
We recently joined forces with our client Deloitte to host a golf fun day at The Shire London Golf Course, raising an impressive £21,233 for Maia Mouse Foundation – a cause close to both companies. Over 100 people, competing in 24 teams, teed-up on the golf course followed by the prize-giving.
The event was the first in a series of charity initiatives that Overbury’s Deloitte project team has planned in aid of Maia Mouse Foundation. This team is currently fitting out the 265,000 sq ft UK headquarters in London for the business advisory firm at One New Street Square.
Maia Mouse Foundation has been chosen as the principle charity that will be supported by the onsite team throughout the duration of the refurbishment. Founded in 2016 by Joe Baum and his wife Gemma, Maia Mouse Foundation was set up in celebration and memory of their daughter Maia who lost her battle with a complex life-limiting condition at 11 months old. Recognising that living with a child with a life-limiting condition puts an enormous strain on the family, Maia’s parents decided they would fundraise and provide financial support, by way of grants, to give families the opportunity to make memories with their children.
“We cannot thank Overbury enough for the tremendous effort that went into hosting a very successful golf day in aid of Maia Mouse Foundation,” says Joe Baum. “It was an incredibly special day for us, knowing that so many people had come together to celebrate and support Maia’s legacy. The future holds so much for the foundation, particularly as we continue to establish our charity in 2018, and these funds will go a long way in supporting many families in need.”
We’d like to thank our sponsors and all those involved in making the day such a success.
