Overbury welcomes students for mock tender challenge

Nine students from six schools gained hands-on experience of the fit out industry through site visits, specialist workshops and a team mock tender competition.

Helping young people understand the opportunities available in our industry is something we're passionate about. That's why we recently welcomed nine students from six schools for a week of work experience designed to showcase the many roles involved in delivering a fit out project.

Through a mix of live site visits, workshops and sessions led by colleagues from across the business, the students gained an insight into everything from design and sustainability to project management, pre-construction and health and safety.

The week was built around a mock tender challenge, giving students the opportunity to work in teams, develop ideas and present their proposals to a client judging panel.

By providing experiences like these, we hope to inspire future talent, broaden understanding of our industry and give young people the confidence to explore careers they may not have previously considered. The programme's success is a credit to everyone who helped bring it to life, sharing their time, expertise and experience throughout the week.
