Home News Overbury's Music Night Raises £25,000 For Cancer Charities Across the UK
Monday, 6th December 2021
The numbers are confirmed. Last month our Charity Fit Out Music Night raised an incredible £25,000 for cancer charities including Cancer Research UK (CRUK).
The sold-out gig for more than 800 guests was held at London’s famous nightclub, Ministry of Sound, and featured performers and musicians from the fit out industry alongside Overbury’s house band, OHIO.
“The support we've had is overwhelming,” said Gordon Wakeling, resident drummer and Operations Director at Overbury.
Over the last 10 years, the London Charity Fit Out Music Night has raised more than £190,000 for 21 charities including; Cancer Research UK, Movember, Great Ormond Street, Just4Children, Teenage Cancer Trust, Make-A-Wish, Shooting Star Chase, Alzheimer’s Society, British Liver Trust and Diabetes UK.
“It’s been a fantastic few months working alongside the most talented people in our industry to rehearse and perfect the set list,” said Wakeling.
“We are so grateful for every musician, fan and sponsor who came to the event, without you we’d still be playing cover songs in our garage.”
“This event is always a great night in support of incredible charities, but it also gives everyone a chance to mingle with the wider industry in support of a good cause.”
The largest charity supported this year was was Cancer Research UK – which is close to the hearts of people at Overbury. Thank you so much to everyone who donated or attended the event at the Ministry of Sound.
Once again, a very special thank you to our event sponsors. Their generous sponsorship has made this event what it is today.
